Corona Del Mar

I set out last week to try and capture some vertorama’s here in Corona Del Mar.  A vertorama is basically a panorama shot verticaly.  My camera quite on my just after I took this shot, and was pretty bummed.  It spent about a week in the shop , and just go it back today life will now continue.

Basílica del la Inmaculada Concepción Mazatlan, Mexico

My parents were in Mexico all last week, and it made me think about some of the pics I took there last year.  This Basílica del la Inmaculada Concepción is absolutely amazing, and thought it would look great with a little HDR touch.

Citizens Bank Ballpark

I was going through some old photos and was reminded of how cool this park ad the fanatic was.  It was pretty cool that the Phillies won the world seried this year as well!

Balboa Pier

Headed down to Balboa Pier the other evening really impressed.  Balboa Pier is one of two piers in Newport Beach about 8 miles from us here in Irvine.

Beach Sunsets

I havn’t been posting to this blog for a few weeks now and plan on getting back into it.  I recently found this great beach in Laguna and have been heading out there quite a bit lately.  Here are a few of the shots iv’e take over the last week at this amazing little spot.

Back Bay Newport Beach

Victoria and I took a bike ride down to the beach this evening after a horribe day of football.  Both the Giants and the Chargers decided to, excuse my language Coug it!!  The bike ride was nice took the mountains to sea trail that runs from 133 down to the Newport Coast.

Big Bear

Spent the weekend up in Big Bear, Victoria and I had a blast.  A big thanks to Beth and Zar for the great accommodations and lovely hikes.  Big Bear is about 80 miles Northeast of us in Irvine and sits at an elevation of about 7,000 ft.  Big Bear Lake is great in the summer and 3 local ski lifts provide some great winter skiing.  Ryan and Kristen joined us along with their dog Jasmine to make for a great group of friends ans some fun times.  Kyla and Jasmine enjoyed the fatty squirrels and nice rabbits probably more than each others company.  All and all a great weekend, Ryan thanks for 3rd pic taken on your suggestion you got a good eye!!

Rainy Day Sunset

Today it rained most of the day so I was getting a little antsy considering I have spent almost everyday outside since I moved here.  I miss the rain and it was nice as an excuse to stay in but I still wanted to gt out for a nice cloudy beach sunset.  I headed down to the dog beach with Kyla and unfortunately there was a little too much cloud cover.  I manged to get a few shots of the sun disappearing next to Catalina Island just before the rain started again.

Victoria and I headed down to the Wilten last night in L.A to see some of Portland’s finest in the Decemberists.  The Wilten was an amazing venue and will for sure be visited again soon.  The Drive by Truckers were playing a show tonight and I contemplated going but decided I might go to the auto show instead.  I was really surprised they allowed cameras in the venue with only a restriction on the size of the lens.  I had brought the old XTI and headed back to the car to grab it.  While heading back I got a little excitement when a little Asian man had tried to rob the parking lot attendant were are car was parked by telling him he had a gun.  The attendant who was like 6′8 280 called his bluff and held him till a barage of cops showed up.  A little something I miss from the big city life definitely brought me back!!  I was happy with the way these pictures turned out with the ISO cranked to 800.  Enjoy the song I posted one of my favorites off Picaresque so happy they played it!
